RLF offers comprehensive spring, summer and fall internships designed to prepare students for careers in public relations, marketing and advertising. Interns gain hands-on experience by working with seasoned professionals and practicing skills learned in the classroom.
This spring we welcome back veteran interns Adam Bowers and Hannah Nelson as communications specialists for the agency and are excited to welcome two new faces to RLF. Today, our first spotlight is on Kara, a new communications specialist.
Kara Frasca
I am from Hackensack, N.J., and am a senior at Elon University pursuing a B.A. in strategic communications with a minor in international studies.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to work for an international communications agency at the senior-executive level, and eventually open my own agency.
What is your favorite book?
I became really passionate about international women’s rights after reading Half the Sky by Nicholas Kristoff and Sheryl WuDunn.
If you could go out to lunch every day, where would it be?
I would do pretty much anything to eat authentic Chinese dim sum every day. My favorite dim sum restaurant is Din Tai Fung, but unfortunately the closest Din Tai Fung is in Los Angeles.
What is a fun fact about you?
I spent three months interning at E! Online in New York City and had the chance to interview many celebrities including my favorite actor, Jason Segel.
What is your favorite part of being an intern at RLF so far?
One day I’m planning an event for 200 people and the next I’m on the phone with reporters from all over the country. The RLF staff trusts me with big responsibilities and I love the challenge!
