RLF recently held its annual summer intern bootcamp to welcome three new interns to the team. In an effort to introduce students to the company and give them insight into communications tasks they will complete, team members gave short presentations on industry topics. For example, Vice President Michelle Rash shared tips for making the most out of an internship at RLF and Communications Manager Alyssa Bedrosian pointed out effective uses of social media.
This summer we are welcoming to the team Heather Ebert, Amanda Garrity and Rebecca Phillips. Our first intern spotlight is on Amanda.

Do you have any hidden talents?
Hidden? Not so much. But I am known for breaking into song at the drop of a hat. I have a wealth of song lyric knowledge that certainly comes in handy in desperate situations (or just on an average day).
If you could host a talk show, who would be your first guest?
As a lover of all things entertainment, I find this question to be extremely difficult. However, I would switch things up and interview my favorite talk show hosts: Ryan Seacrest, Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Robin Roberts and Oprah Winfrey. This diverse group would definitely make for an interesting conversation and hopefully they would give me a few tips along the way.
What fictional place would you like to visit?
I would spend the holiday season in Whoville. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I would love to be in a place that has so much holiday spirit. I imagine a constant stream of Christmas carols and an endless supply of festive sweets. Now that sounds amazing!
Name 3 things you think would be obsolete in 10 years.
iPod classic – I still use my 80 GB beauty from middle school and people are already calling it “vintage.”
DVDs – With Netflix and other online streaming sites, it seems like there will no longer be a need for DVDs – unless Redbox keeps the DVD industry afloat, of course. For what it’s worth, I think CDs will be in the same situation.
Justin Bieber – He’s currently in the midst of a career revival and he is only 21 years old. If he stays out of trouble and produces great music, he may be sticking around for awhile. But if this isn’t the case, he will be a has-been in 10 years. My 14-year-old Belieber heart is breaking at this very thought.
What is your dream job?
I hope to be the “female Ryan Seacrest.” I plan to work in the entertainment industry and showcase talented singers, musicians and actors. There are many avenues I can take – from being a celebrity publicist to an entertainment journalist. More than anything, I want to stand on the red carpets that I have gushed over, work at the award shows that I have watched from afar and be involved in the industry that has fascinated me throughout my entire life. However, if I am being completely honest, a part of me still wishes that I could be the next Carrie Underwood. We’ll see about that.
