Fall Intern Spotlight – Taylor Lord

RLF’s internship program gives college students the opportunity to gain real world experience in an integrated communications agency. Over the course of the semester, interns learn practical knowledge by working closely with qualified professionals on a variety of client accounts.
This fall, RLF has two new interns that have joined the team: Taylor Lord and Camille Vargas. Our first intern spotlight is on Taylor Lord.
“I’m a native of the Tar Heel state, born and raised in Raleigh. I am a senior at High Point University, majoring in Spanish and strategic communication.”

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to work for an international company with a focus on corporate social responsibility. As a Spanish major, I love learning about different cultures around the world. I want to combine my interests of the global market and community service by promoting an international organization’s civic platform.
Are you a morning or a night person?
Before this semester, I would’ve said that I was a night person. Unfortunately, my classes all begin early and now I can’t sleep in past 8 a.m. I am starting to enjoy the mornings because I feel more productive throughout the day.
What made you want to work for RLF? How did you find out about us?
I first heard about RLF during a career and internship fair at my school. After speaking with the RLF team and learning about the internship program, I immediately knew that I wanted to apply. I was excited about the opportunity for a hands-on experience working with multiple clients.
Do you have a favorite movie?
The 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley. I actually had to watch it as part of an English class in high school, and it has been my favorite movie ever since.
What was the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
Llama. I was studying abroad in Chile and went on a trip to San Pedro de Atacama, where the local delicacy was a llama and gnocchi dish. I’ll admit, it was pretty good and I would definitely eat it again.
If you could learn any skill, what would it be?
Right now, I really enjoy yoga. I want to learn to do some of the advanced poses, like headstands. Hopefully, practice makes perfect!
What has been your favorite part about working with RLF?
I love the culture of the agency. Everyone works hard, but the environment is fun and collaborative. Also, if I ever get too stressed, there is always a cute dog to play with.
